Where Flexibility Meets Intelligent Control
In today's connected business environment, the boardroom has become more than a place to meet.
It is where important decisions are made, strategies are developed and teams collaborate across different locations and platforms.
For Netcare 911, creating an executive meeting environment capable of supporting these demands required a solution that balanced flexibility with simplicity.
The EXCO Boardroom needed to accommodate both native Microsoft Teams Rooms meetings and BYOD collaboration, allowing users to connect through the room's dedicated conferencing system or their own devices.
But offering multiple connection options was only part of the challenge.
The experience needed to remain consistent, regardless of how the meeting was hosted.
Galdon Data, a specialist in unified communications and collaboration technology, was tasked with delivering the solution.
Working with Planetworld and Lightware, the team developed an integrated AV environment combining Lightware UCX connectivity, USB peripheral management and LARA room automation with a Yealink MVC S98 Microsoft Teams Rooms system.
The Lightware UCX-4X3-TPX-TX20 and UCX-3X3-TPX-RX20 devices form an important part of the room's connectivity infrastructure, supporting the distribution and management of audiovisual signals and USB peripherals.
This allows the boardroom to accommodate different collaboration workflows while making use of its installed professional AV equipment.
What makes the installation particularly interesting, however, is the intelligence behind the scenes.
Through the Lightware Companion App installed on the Microsoft Teams Rooms PC, call-state information is communicated directly to the LARA automation logic.
This provides the system with information about meeting activity, allowing room functions to be automated according to the configured logic.
Rather than relying entirely on manual control, the boardroom can respond more intelligently to how the space is being used.
The integration also supports flexible audiovisual management across the room's three-display configuration.
For executive users, this means greater freedom to collaborate without needing to understand the technical complexity behind the system.
A meeting can be hosted through the dedicated Microsoft Teams Rooms environment or through a supported BYOD workflow, with the integrated AV infrastructure designed to accommodate both.
The project demonstrates how thoughtful system design can bring multiple technologies together to create a simpler, more connected user experience.
For Netcare 911, the EXCO Boardroom is more than a collection of advanced AV equipment.
It is an intelligent collaboration environment designed to make meetings more flexible, efficient and intuitive.
One room. Multiple ways to collaborate. Technology that keeps everything connected.
The Netcare 911 EXCO Boardroom demonstrates how intelligent AV integration can simplify complex collaboration requirements without compromising flexibility.
Through Galdon Data's implementation of Lightware UCX technology and LARA automation alongside a Yealink Microsoft Teams Rooms system, the project brings native Teams and BYOD collaboration together within a single environment.
The integration of Lightware's Companion App enables call-state information to inform room automation, while AV distribution and USB peripheral management support a consistent user experience across the three-display configuration.
The result is a flexible executive meeting space where intelligent technology works behind the scenes, allowing users to focus on collaboration rather than system operation.
The project highlights how Lightware technology can add value to existing conferencing platforms by bringing connectivity, control and automation together in one integrated solution.
